Besides my work as a dramaturg on this production, I also served as an assistant lighting designer to Dan Featherstone (https://www.dhampirstagetech.com/about). I assisted with the creation of footlight fixtures and, most notably, with the crafting of the boat scene pictured here. This design aimed to lean into the different forms of theatre that were used by this production, from vaudeville to melodrama to realism to post-dramatic.
